Alfred H. White, Jr.

Al was born in Seattle, Washington on August 6, 1958 to Alfred H. White, Sr. and Iona Crawford White.  Al stepped into heaven on Wednesday, May 10, 2017.

Al enjoyed a long career in the oil and gas industry beginning first with Olympic Pipeline followed by British Petroleum Company from 1978 – 2010.  During many of these years, Al faithfully served his country in the Air Force Reserves from 1987 – 1994.  He graduated from Washington State University in 1996 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science.

Al loved driving no matter the destination provided he had a map, some coffee and plenty of toothpicks to “chew” along the journey.  He also loved music, regardless of genre and built an impressive collection that includes 8-Tracks, LP’s, cassettes and CD’s.  Al’s children inherited his love for music.  To his children’s friends in Friendswood, TX, he was known as “Uncle Al”.

Al loved food, especially spicy food.  He would always pay the kids and their friends a dollar and “only” a dollar to try new foods to broaden their pallets.  He encouraged them to strive for excellence, be the best they can be and to have a work ethic that they could be proud of.  His family meant the world to him.  He was a very proud father.

Al was preceded in death by his father, Alfred H. White, Sr. and niece, Morgan Ealom.

Al is survived by his mother, Iona White; wife of 27 years, Yvonne White; children, Tianya White, Ezra Wallace, Rebekka Ross (Rory), Alfred H. White III and Anisia White; sisters, Marcia Ealom (Michael) of Overland Park, KS and Rhonda Ransom (Michael) of Seattle, WA and the blessings of many family members.

A public visitation will begin at 11:00 am followed by a Celebration of His Life at 1:00 pm.  Both services will be held at Bay Area Funeral Directors, 5410 FM 1765 Texas City, TX 77591.  Memorials can also be sent to the funeral home.
