Jarret Vaughn Dawsey Sr. was born August 11, 1981 in Galveston, TX to Walter Louis Henderson Jr. and late Vickie Dawsey Arthurs. Jarret was introduced to the love of Christ by his great-grandmother the late Ms. Joyce Cooper at an early age. He was raised in the New Hope Baptist Church in La Marque, Texas and always had a deep-rooted respect for the Lord.
A free spirit at heart, Jarret loved to read, sing, debate and collect old coins. Competitive by nature, he enjoyed playing basketball, video games, dominoes and cards in his free time.
A gentle soul, Jarret was always loyal to his family first and friends who he kept near to his heart. Always calling, checking in and making sure everyone else was good. His smile was infectious, and his words of encouragement will live on in the hearts of the many lives he touched during his time here on earth.
Jarret is preceded in death by his mother, Vickie Dawsey Arthurs. He leaves to cherish his memory four children Jarret Dawsey II, Ravion Dawsey, Tristian Dawsey, Grayson Dawsey his grandfather Leonard Dawsey Sr. grandmother Essie J. Henderson, father Walter Henderson II. (Arnetta), brothers Jarrod Dawsey (Misty), Walter Henderson III, Wesley Henderson, Aaron Henderson (Sharise) and sisters Brandi Smith (Marshall) and Jessica Dawsey in addition to a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
His professional life: Jarret received his education in La Marque Independent School District. He completed welding training at Alvin Community college. Jarret was a skillful handyman. He worked in the family landscaping business and was a professional welder by trade. He will be remembered for his contagious smile and giving spirit.
There will be a funeral service held on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 11am at Carnes Funeral Home located at 3100 Gulf Freeway, Texas City, Texas 77591. Burial to follow at Forest Park East Cemetery..
