Marcia Robin Jackson

On October 8, 2019, the Lord called home one of his children, Mary Ella Jackson born to Richard and Anzella Jackson and later she was adopted to Fred D. Johnson and Ruth Bradley and her name was changed to Marcia Robin Johnson.  Marcia accepted Christ at early age at Main Street Missionary Baptist Church in Brenham, Texas under leadership of Rev. Harvey.  Marcia served the Lord faithfully until her death at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Texas City and Assembling of the Saints Church in Richwood, Texas.

She graduated from Pickett High in Brenham, Texas and went on to attend Prairie View A&M University.  Marcia lived a full happy life.  Marcia was always guaranteed to put a smile on your face and keep your stomach full.  Marcia retired from Seabreeze Nursing Home after many years of service as a Med-Aid.  Marcia was involved in the Order of the Eastern Star.  Marcia was an active member in her church.  Marcia also believed in giving back to her community and she did so by being a part of the Carver Park Community League.

Marcia is preceded in death by both sets of parents, Richard and Anzella Jackson and Fred D. Johnson and Ruth Bradley; her husbands, Raymond Carraway, Sr., James Willie Graves, Sr. and Jimmy Jackson; her children, Marcia “Yvette” Carraway-Gee and Tina Maria Michelle Graves-Jenkins; her siblings, Richard Jackson, Jr., David Jackson, Jasper Dotson, Katherine “Aunt T” Major, Rosie Lee Johnson, Betty Bailey, Dorothy “Dot” Allen, Bobbi Hamilton, Gail Vanderbull, Brenda Guy and Jimmie Lynn Bogan.

Left to cherish her memories are:  her sons, Raymond Carraway, Jr. (Twani), James Willie Graves, Jr. (Karen) and Peter Graves; her daughters, Lisa Carraway-Shepherd (James), Mary Graves (Dutchess) and Nodie Jackson (David); her siblings, Stella “Mae Mae” Ansari, Dorothy Smith, Freddie Randell, Eloise Wells, Maxine Sallie, Norman Jean Bradley and Amy Brow, Arthur “Earl” Jackson and Hubert “Bubba” Jackson and a play-sister, Joann String Fellow.  Marcia also enjoyed 37 grandchildren and four grandchildren she raised as her own, Roshanda Carraway, Wontrel Gee-Simon, Travelt Gee, Deforiest Carraway-Menefee And Keilin Garner;  81 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; special friends, Charlotte Cook, Williemae Holiday, Maria Moore and Donald Singleton; the Holmes, Cooper and Jackson families; her Carver Park Community League Family and many other family and friends.
