Edmond Joel Wilcox, Jr. passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at his home with his Wife and Soulmate, Barbara Wilcox and Daughter, Christine Deem by his side. Edmond suffered with a long bout with illnesses and pain. He will be greatly missed by everyone.
Edmond (Bubba) Joel Wilcox, Jr. was born on October 11, 1947 in Galveston, TX to his parents, Gwendolyn Clausean Wilcox and Edmond Joel Wilcox, Sr. Edmond graduated from Texas City High School and attended College of the Mainland. Edmond loved to work in Construction. Since age 16, he worked for many different Contractors building Commerical and Residential buildings. Edmond worked for CL Vick Construction, Brown & Root. He helped build College of the Mainland, Amegy Bank in Dickinson, the Astroworld theme park, UTMB Hospital in Galveston, Colleges in Houston, the NASA Space Center in Webster and numerous other buildings. Give him a piece of wood and he could do anything with it. He loved working in all these different places and made many, many friends.
Edmond had six Children: Robert Joel Wilcox, Tammy Mullins (with Boyfriend Christopher Lucus), Rodney Wilcox (with Wife Ronda Wilcox), Gwendolyn Traeger, Tammi Mullen (with Husband Tim Mullen) and Christine Deem. Edmond also had nine Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren. He loved them all with his whole being. His Step Son Roger Rhew, Friends Jose & Rosie Garza, J.C. Howard, Charles Wayne Sanders and Roger Robinson (whom was sadly taken from us too soon).
Edmond, Jr. is preceded in death by his Parents, Gwendolyn & Edmond, Sr.; Sisters, Gwendolyn Boggs and Carol Danner; his Brothers, Joseph and William Wilcox. He is survived by his Sisters, Virginia Utley, Lorraine Wilcox and Brother, Benjamin Wilcox (with Wife Carmen) and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at the First Church of God – 2209 29th Street North in Texas City, TX 77590. The family will receive friends and relatives in the Fellowship Hall of the church immediately following the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request that donations be sent to his Disabled Wife to help pay for his Cremation, Memorial and Medical bills. Donations can be made through her through her Messenger Account.
