Crewshanda Monta (Chris) Hampton

Crewshanda Monta Hampton, affectionately called “Chris,” was born on July 8, 1977 in Concord, North Carolina. He transitioned home to glory on May 9, 2020. He was the son of Jamie Hampton and the late Eddie Moody. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers: Ms. Emma Hampton and Ms. Louise Moody; Grandfathers: Mr. Jimmy Johnson and Mr. William Clark; Great-Grandparents: Theodore Hampton and Pearline Hampton; Uncles: Michael Hampton and Donald Hampton and Aunt: Abby Muhammad.

Chris moved to Houston, Texas in 1990 with his mother. He attended Clear Creek ISD, he then obtained his GED from San Jacinto College. Chris did not meet any strangers, he loved everyone and everyone loved him. He had a multitude of friends, and always was willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories: his mother, Jamie Hampton, daughter: Arykah Welch, two sons: Christian Hampton and Ashton Hampton, four brothers: Samario Bradshaw, Damaune Moody, Dorrian Moody, and Darius Moody, three sisters: Coco Moody, Lavonda Moody and Khadasia Tate, three uncles: Timothy Hampton, Tony Moody and Reginald Moody, two aunts: Robin Hampton and Vickie Moody, great-aunt, Donna Harris and great-uncle: Charles Hampton



There will be a viewing on Monday, May 18th, 2020 at Bay Area Funeral Home in Texas City 77591 starting at 11:00am-1:00pm. Services will follow starting at 1:00pm-2:15pm. Burial will be held after service at 3:00pm at Grand View Memorial Park 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, Texas 77505.

Chris giant smile when talking about his mom was a mile long with jokes. Heaven will never be the same with Chis arriving. Earth’s tremble will be Jesus laughter.

Chris and I started our first journey of independence together at Webster intermediate and was my neighbor through Clear Creek. We became blood brothers. Rest well, look out for ya boy up there.

Well Chris and I was raised up together in Concord Nc every time he came home from Texas he made his way to our house to speak I’m really going to miss you Chris

I remember Chris from middle school and our days hanging with Quincey at Kings Park Apartments. He kept me laughing and he was a good friend to my brother. He will truly be missed.
