Mr. James Lemoine Nichols, 84, of Lake View, Ohio passed away Wednesday May 20, 2020 at approximately 1:13 p.m. at the RIO Mainland Center in Texas City, Texas.
James L. Nichols was born in Lake View, Ohio on September 10, 1935 to the union of Loretta Warwick and Frank Nichols; both parents preceded him in death.
He was united in holy matrimony to Jessie Thompson in Texas; his wife has also preceded him in death.
Mr. Nichols proudly served in the Air Force from July 1954 to February 1957 and was stationed at Ellington Field Joint Base in Houston where he received an honorable discharge. From there, he worked as a laborer in and around Galveston County for the majority of his career and until illness befell him.
Mr. Nichols leaves to cherish his precious memory two cousins; Lynn Warwick, Jr. of Bellefontaine, Ohio and Gerald Warwick of Bobenheim-Roxheim, Germany; two stepsons; Nathaniel Bobby Thompson of Texas City and David Chris Thompson of Austin, Texas; one stepdaughter, Melba Thompson Thibodeaux of Texas City; 13 grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; Eddie Mae Harris and family.
Mr. Nichols was also preceded in death by three aunts, Virginia Warwick Clemons, Viola Warwick and Essie Warwick; three uncles, Floyd Warwick, Dudley Warwick and Lynn Warwick; two step-children, Allen Gene Thompson and Glen Wayne Thompson and a grandchild, Daryl.
Direct-Interment will be Wednesday June 3, 2020 at the Houston National Cemetery located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive in Houston, TX 77038.
Services are entrusted to Bay Area Funeral Directors and the National Cemetery Administration.
