Earnest Earl Haynes

On July 7, 1950, Earnest Earl Haynes (Big Boy/Jr/Jr Boy/Bongo) was born in Kendleton, TX, in Fort Bend County but at his death he was a native of La Marque, TX.
He passed away suddenly on February 16, 2021 and was preceded in death by his Grandfather, Grant Haynes (AKA Gramp) his mother, Thelma Haynes Preston and father, Ike Preston along with his brothers:  Emmett Preston and Edward George Haynes.
He was reared by Christian parents which lead eventually to his accepting a Bible Study with Jehovah’s Witnesses and dedicating his life to Jehovah, symbolizing it by water baptism, July 9th 1983.
Earnest Haynes (Bongo) graduated from La Marque High School in 1968.  He decided to further his education so attended College of the Mainland where he received his AAS degree in automotive mechanics.  He believed and had been taught by his mother and grandfather that  hard work was the right way to live and since he had those strong ethics, he later started working for Sears Roebuck and Company in the Automotive Department.  Later when he left that job he decided he wanted to work for himself and started his own business in Hitchcock, Texas repairing automobiles.
After many years he decided to sell his business and started working for the City of La Marque in the Water Department where he later retired to pursue his spiritual goals.
Before retiring from the City of La Marque, he met and married Carol P. Haynes (Maxwell) on October 9, 1999 and was married for almost 22 years up until his death.  He will be greatly missed by his wife as well as all his family.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Carol P. Haynes (Maxwell), step-children, Christina Denise Cobbs (Thaddeus) and Arthur Ned Maxwell Jr., (Valencia), siblings; Evelyn Preston-Williams, Bonnie Preston-Crosby (Larry), and Donald Preston.  Also left to cherish his memory are his in-laws, a host of nieces and nephews, as well as cousins, and close family friends.
Due to Covid-19, The family and friends will be having a private Memorial Service for Earnest Earl Haynes on March 13, 2021 via Video Conferencing (Zoom). March 13, 2021 @3pm
