James Manago, Jr.

James Manago, Jr., age 68, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at UTMB Victory Lakes.  He was the husband of Audrey Manago.  They shared 49 years of marriage together.

Born in Galveston, Texas, James was the son of James Manago, Sr. and Mary Lovett.  He graduated from Dickinson High School as a member of the Class of 1971.  He worked in the chemical plant industry as a welder and a pipefitter for most of his life.

James was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.  He enjoyed fishing, listening to music and being around family and close friends.  James will be remembered for always barbecuing no matter the day or occasion, always giving lectures and advice on life and knowing how to press all of the right buttons.

James was preceded in death by both parents, his brother, Ardis Manago; a son, James Manago III and a granddaughter, Precious Lynn Campbell.

James is survived by his wife, Audrey Manago; three children, Jason Manago (Kim), Jamie Campbell (John) and Jeremy Manago (Susan); 13 grandchildren, Destiny, Tajah, Jaylen, John, Jr., Bailee, Keiara, Kayla, Jeremy, Jr., Taya, Kamrey, Julianna, Jadalynn and Kayla K.; a great-grandson, Dreaux and a host of other family and lifelong friends.

The family will receive guests at the memorial service on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 3:00 p.m.  The service will be held at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, located at 2920 Highway 3 in Dickinson, Texas 77539.  281-337-6189.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Audrey Manago at 2902 Deats Road, Apt. A3 in Dickinson, Texas 77539.

James could make me laugh on even my worse days. I can see see that grin from heaven.
