Robert Edward Chavira Obituary (1977

Robert Edward Chavira of Houston, TX age 43, passed away on March 19th 2022 in Palm Beach, FL. He was the ex-husband of Jennifer Chavira. They were married for 10 years. & were loving co-parents. Born in Stratford, NJ he was the son of Carmen Emilio Chavira Jr. & Frances Jane Smith. He graduated with honors from Bates University in Lewiston Maine. He received his Bachelors degree in American Cultural Studies and Theology from there. He also was pursuing a his Masters degree in Theology from St. Thomas University in Houston, TX. He also attended University of Houston. He was in the Army during 911 & was part of the elite 82nd Airborne. He was a member of Old River Terrace Church in Houston TX. He was a friend of Bill W's & helped countless mutual friends. He will be remembered for his unique speaking abilities & articulate writing. His intelligence & friendliness have a unique quality that only those who were lucky enough to know him could understand. Throughout his life he enjoyed successes in the petro-chemical industry in Supervisor and Training Roles. His work and studies took to places abroad such as Cuba & Saudi Arabia. He was a boxer & trained under the famous Joe Gamache. He wrote for newspapers and interviewed some politicians. His greatest accomplishment was being a great father to his son Jude Francis Chavira. More than anything in this world he loved spending time with him, tossing him around, dancing in the living room & imparting words of wisdom to him He loved movies, sports, playing guitar. He is survived by his best friend and mother Frances Smith, father Emilio Chavira, son & love of his life Jude Chavira, step-son & step-daughter Jaden & Laillah Rashid. & Ex-wife & loving co-parent, Jennifer Chavira. His Aunt Vicky Evans, Uncle Robert Smith, cousin Kelly Evans. Grandmother's Lucy Smith & Pillar Chavira. Dear college friends such as A.J. Glusman-Brown & Keith Gauger. Many more aunts, uncles, cousins & friends will dearly miss him. He is joining his step-son best friend Nick Vercher in Heaven. The funeral service will be held at Bay Area Funeral Home at 5410 FM 1765, Texas City TX 77591 on April 9th 2022 with visitation & viewing starting at 12 noon, with interment at Rising Star Cemetery.
