He passed away on November 21, 2021 at HCA Houston Healthcare Mainland hospital in Texas City, TX. Ismael lived a difficult life from childhood and grew up in the towns surrounding Ciudad Camargo and Rio Grande City, TX. In 1980, he and his young family moved to Katy, TX where he worked on the Morton Ranch tending to rice fields, and later as a mechanic at various shops around the Houston area. Ismael moved to Texas City in 2019 after surviving a stroke. In the last two years of his life, Ismael gained a greater perspective on his relationships with his children and loved ones, he died with peace in his heart of knowing he was loved.\nHe is survived by his five children Brenda, Salma (Mark), Keila, Isaac, Eliab (Kara), and his nine grandchildren Ivan, Alejandro, Leonardo, Xiomara, Demian, Gabriel, Benjamin, Norah, Otto, and grand-dog Gomer. His children are missing his daily phone calls asking about the weather, and how children or pets were behaving on that particular day. He will be best remembered for his love of classic rock, especially Pink Floyd, for taking in stray cats and dogs (and one time a goat), his love of good food, Werther's Original candies, and his ingenuity when it came to tinkering or fixing anything and everything around him. Ismael had a great sense of humor, and always had a joke to tell anyone willing to listen.
