Madolia Mary Batiste Obituary (1926 - 2018)

Madolia Mary Batiste was born on May 8, 1926 in Mansura, La. to Clinton Dorsey and Lena Frier. Madolia married Clarence Batiste, Sr. in 1944 for 75 plus years and she had 11 kids. She moved to Houston, TX in 1953. She was a member of St. Phillip Neri church in Houston, TX. Madolia worked as a nurse and lived in La Marque, TX where she was called home on August 27, 2018. Madolia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, the matriarch of a family that spans five generations. Madolia is survived by her husband, Clarence Batiste Sr., daughters, Lerittia Marie Batiste Broussard, Sarah Ann Richardson, Kathleen Batiste, Deanette Batiste and Benita Batiste; sons, Clarence Batiste, Jr. and Melvin Charles Batiste, Sr.; 33 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren. Madolia is predeceased by her mother; a set of twin children; daughter, Evolia Batiste; son, Raymond Leo Batiste; sister, Sarah Holmes and granddaughters, Sylvia Ann House and Fonda Necole Batiste. Funeral services are scheduled on Saturday, September 8, 2018. The visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by a ceremony to celebrate her life at noon.
