"Bear" Obituary (1958 - 2022) - Texas City, Texas

Richard Lee Rich, also known as "Bear", was born April 14, 1958 in Lufkin, Texas. He was the son of Rosie Roberson Rich and Jessie Rich, Sr. He attended Dickinson High School in Dickinson, Texas. Richard was employed by BFI as a driver for 15 years. Richard was always willing to hear your problems. He had a big heart and was always willing to help others. Richard always had a joke or two to help with the pain, as life often does. He lived a hard but good life. He always said a broken heart, an empty wallet and an empty stomach can teach you life's most important lessons. He was preceded in death by parents, Rosie Roberson Rich and Jessie Rich; son, Richard Rich; sisters, Rosie Rich and Brenda Rich; brothers, Jessie Rich, Jr., Willie J. Rich, Andre L. Rich, Steven D. Rich and Vernell Rich; nieces, Julisa Rich and Felicia Rich and a host of aunts and uncles. Richard's memory will always live in the hearts of his family: daughter, Monica Thompson; sister, Helen Rich; aunt, Margaret Woodson; uncles, Billy Roberson and Sampson Roberson; niece, Alicia Rich; nephews, Sidney Hobbs, Marcus Barnett and Gerald Rich and a host of other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, relatives and friends. Services for Richard will take place on Saturday, September 24, 2022.
